Earlier this week I attended a committee meeting along with my good friend, Jessica Blackburn. When I got there I realized I hadn't brought a pad of paper or a pen with me (who writes anymore anyway?) There were handouts, so I thought: "I'll just takes notes on this." As I was digging around in my purse for a pen this is what I found instead:
1. Two packages of peanut butter crackers; one of them open and spilling crumbs in the bottom of my purse.
2. A single sock (actually one of my socks - not one of the kids, which is kinda funny in itself).
3. Two packages of Skittles (the regular and the sour variety).
4. A pair of Finn's underwear (I'm not sure if they were clean or dirty).
5. One of Lola's National Geographic Kids magazines.
6. One of Lola's chapter books.
7. A pink paint sample that I had picked up a few weeks ago as I was debating painting polka dots on one of Lola's bedroom walls.
With Finn out of diapers I don't carry a diaper bag anymore. But if you look in my purse you still know I'm a mom. I never found a pen. I did find a mechanical pencil with no eraser. Thank goodness it still had lead in it. Whew.
