This dog loves to swim. I envision taking her to the lake even in winter. Only question is: How to keep the kids out of the water when it's freezing outside? Hmm. 

Firsts

 

Lola started kindergarten on Aug. 17. So far she is loving it! She has lost two teeth since school began (for a total of four so far, with two more loose), and she learned to tie her shoes. She's reading sight words and even some short books. We are so proud of her!

 

Finn started preschool at The Montessori School  in Mountain Home on Aug. 16. He goes two days a week and still spends two days with his Nanny. At first, he was a little unsure about the whole school thing. He hasn't shed a tear, but he's always a little hesitant about going and staying there. Each time it's a little easier to leave him there, and his teachers say he is doing great! He is learning to write his name, and this week he made a new friend named Benson. They collected pine cones together on the playground. 😊

Summer Days

 

These days are numbered. I'll admit, Matt and I are looking forward to fall: cooler weather, a change of pace, soup, chili, football Saturdays, pumpkin-flavored/scented everything, fall festivals, school carnivals. To name a few. But, it has been a great summer. The kids have had so much fun. They love the lake. They love to swim. And they're good at it! We will all miss the longer days and late nights. Sleepovers with cousins and naps on the boat. Finn starts preschool next Tuesday - he'll be going to Montessori school in Mountain Home two days a week, like his sister did when she was his age. Lola starts kindergarten on Wednesday. We have backpacks and lunch boxes, school supplies and new tennis shoes. We're ready. Technically we are ready. Mentally and emotionally? Stay tuned.
