Happy Birthday to Me
Matt and I spent the past four days in Columbia celebrating my 29th and the Missouri Tigers. After two losses, we finally won! 58-0. It was pretty much domination. :) Before the game, though, I had a little surprise on Friday. Jess, Gabe, Matt and I headed to the bookstore first thing Friday morning, where we stocked up on MU apparel (25% off on Fridays before home games). From there we headed downtown, where we had lunch at Flat Branch. We had already planned to go to the winery that afternoon - what I didn't know is that Matt had planned a surprise party for me there. I was floored. The biggest surprise was Caldwell and Kate. As far as I knew, Kate wasn't coming to Columbia at all, and Cal wasn't suppose to be there until Saturday morning. Hannah and Bobby were there. Beth, whom I didn't expect to see until Friday night, was also there. She even made a semi sugar-free cookie cake for me, along with some other nibbles. It was wonderful! I got a little teary when I realized what was going on. (I'm getting awfully soft in my old age.) I love my hubby. :)

And then there were four...
Oscar arrived on Friday. He rode down to Pontiac with "Uncle Caldwell." At first Oscar was a little unsure about Matt and me, but he warmed quickly. Honey, on the other hand, is slowly learning to tolerate him. She's been pouting over the past few days. I think Matt is worried that we've permanently damaged her spirit, but I know she will come around. Even when she's growling at him her tail is wagging... that's a good sign, right?! As far as Oscar's personality, he is a little firecracker. I love him to death. He's so soft and cuddly. He's so lovable. He loves to give kisses, so watch out! He's a licker. He has been crate-trained, so he slept in his crate and stayed in it when Bryan and Candace left the house. The first night we kept him in his crate, but by night 2, he was in bed with us. He slept all night and never stirred! Honey was in bed, too, of course. And it worked out fine. I have been keeping him in his crate while we're at work, as I'm not sure what he will do if I leave him out in the house. He's still a puppy, and he likes to chew a little. I'll post pictures of the little guy soon.

It's a Boy!
We're getting a new puppy! This is Oscar. He currently lives with Caldwell's friends, Bryan and Candace. They have a little boy, are expecting another baby later this year, and a puppy was just a little too much, so they needed to find a new home for him. We've talked about getting another dog for a while now, so when this came up, we thought, What the heck! Cal is bringing him down in two weeks. Can't wait! It will be interesting to see how Honey reacts. She's used to being the queen Bee (literally), and so she might not welcome him with open paws. :)
