We have survived our first ear infection and our second round of antibiotics. That's what happens when you're the second kid, and your big sis goes to school with a bunch of snotty noses. Sigh. In other news, he's working on his first teeth! Nothing yet, but coming soon, I am sure.

*This post is a little late, as Finn is now one week away from 7 months!

I'll take it

Two nights ago both kids slept all night without interruption and didn't wake up until 6:30 the next morning. Matt and I got up at 6:00 - he enjoyed a cup of coffee and I a cup of tea. BY OURSELVES. We actually watched the news for THIRTY MINUTES instead of cartoons. It was delightful. Last night? Lola woke up at midnight and wanted to get in our bed or one of us in hers. Finn was up and unsettled from 3 to 4 a.m. (pretty sure he's teething). I woke up to cartoons already playing, so I opted for the shower first instead of my usual cup of tea. Even if I can't have that perfect scenario every night and morning, I'll take it when I can get it.

Catching up!

Oh, the blog. I don't know if anyone out there is still checking for updates. I certainly hope so! (But I wouldn't blame you if you've given up on me ever writing another update again. Or writing updates on a regular basis. Sigh.) I keep thinking of things I want to post, but I just. can't. find. the. time. (Story of my life!) For now, enjoy these pictures. They pretty much sum up what we've been up to (when we're not working or sleeping).

First swim of the year for Lola. First EVER dip in Bull Shoals Lake for Bubs.

Sweet siblings.

Happy Mother's Day to me.

She giggled the whole time this fuzzy thing was crawling up her arm. Ewwww!

More bugs!

Baker Creek's spring planting festival.
Speaking of bunnies, we have a "pet" bunny living under our deck. His name is Foo Foo.

Just a couple of gals, sitting on hay bales.

I'll let you know how it turns out this time. :)

Night Vision

A few weeks ago Finn and I drove home from Columbia, and three-quarters of the trip was after dark. And oh boy, was that an eye-opening experience. I very quickly realized I cannot see well at night. At all. I also couldn't remember the last time I had driven after dark (except from the dock to my house, which I could do with my eyes closed) - so this was news to me. In all honesty, it was scary. I should have pulled over and stayed in a motel, but I just wanted to be home so badly. At one point I called Matt and said, "I don't want to alarm you, but..." and I proceeded to tell him what was going on. He, of course, said I should pull over, but by that point I was between Lebanon and Mansfield, and if you know that stretch of road, well, I just had to keep driving. The lights from other cars blinded me. My lights reflecting off the road signs blinded me. I literally had to slow down to 30 miles per hour when meeting oncoming traffic It was the craziest thing. Ever! What's even more bizarre, I think, is that the majority of the people I have told about this said they have the same problem. We're in our thirties, people! And we're already falling apart?! Matt's 82-year-old grandma, Loretta (aka "Ma"), doesn't drive at night. Well, Ma, now neither do I.
