What a beautiful morning. If I had woken up on the wrong side of the bed, it wouldn't have lasted long. The windows in our bedroom are open, and in the kitchen... and it's the most perfect temperature outside to cool the house. The birds are chirping, and I can even hear boats heading out on the lake. April is here, spring is here. Yay! It's going to be a good day.
What have we been up to? Well, many of you know my grandpa passed away a week ago Friday. Matt and I were in Austin, Texas, with Jess and Gabe when we got the news. So, we cut our trip short and headed back to Ozark County to be with family and for the services.
He lived a good, long, healthy life. You really can't ask for a better life... he was almost 90 years old (89 years and 10 months, to be precise)... he loved to drive really fast, go to the farm every day, eat lunch in town, read the paper (and aggravate the girls) at the gas company, eat chocolate cake and pie, and drink Coca-Cola from those little old-fashioned glass bottles. In his and my grandma's younger days, they traveled all over the country in a motor home - they visited all 50 states. He was a character. He could be gruff at times and was always to-the-point. When he was finished talking to you, he'd hang up or walk away, depending on the circumstances. He'll be missed by so many people!
In happier news, Baby Wade is about 3 1/2 inches now, and an ounce and a half. (About the size of a lemon!) I'm still feeling great. We have a monthly check-up next week... and after that... the ultrasound! Eeeeeeeee! We are counting the days. :)
